Week 8 Thing 21
Tired of poster boards, tri-fold displays and Power Point slide shows? Try digital storytelling. Digital storytelling is a process that can be easily learned using free software such as iMovie or Photo Story. Students can create an electronic portfolio of their work, create stories to demonstrate scientific experiments and procedures, “how to” instructions, trailers for favorite books, and orientation to their school; the possibilities are endless! Digital storytelling is perfect for keeping students interested and working on thematic assignments as the create, collaborate, and communicate to compose a professional-looking product. Try these links to find more information on digital storytelling:

Week 4 - Voice Thread
Voice Thread reminds me of Safari Live with more features. Voice Thread would be a great tool to use with any collaboration project - creating assessments for Volusia Proficiency Model courses; collaborating on end-of-course exams, working on documents or multimedia presentations in PLCs, the ideas are endless. When using Safari Live, only a few people were able to participate via voice and others could enter their ideas via text; however with Voice Thread, you can participate any way you want.

Week 3 Thing7 - Picnik.com
What a convenient and easy way to edit photos. Students and students will be able to easily magnify and enhance photos to share, and the file size is minimal.
