Tired of poster boards, tri-fold displays and Power Point slide shows? Try digital storytelling. Digital storytelling is a process that can be easily learned using free software such as iMovie or Photo Story. Students can create an electronic portfolio of their work, create stories to demonstrate scientific experiments and procedures, “how to” instructions, trailers for favorite books, and orientation to their school; the possibilities are endless! Digital storytelling is perfect for keeping students interested and working on thematic assignments as the create, collaborate, and communicate to compose a professional-looking product.
